DIGIT is Ireland’s largest games developer, home to a talented team of over 70 people from all over the world and the creators of free-to-play MMO mobile strategy games. Our first game, Kings of the Realm, became a top grossing game in over 50 countries. Our latest project Star Trek™ Fleet Command, launched globally in November 2018 and is redefining strategy gaming on mobile.

We are looking for a driven Technical Producer to join our Star Trek™ Fleet Command team in Dublin, Ireland. This role is critical for a lasting success of our Studio and our hit game Star Trek™ Fleet Command. The person in this position will be key in ensuring our core technical teams can deliver their best by creating and improving communication channels, celebrating teams successes, and always making sure we understand how and where our technical teams can improve the lives of our players and all those working on Star Trek™ Fleet Command

You will also report on progress, risks, completions on technical projects as well on technical performance and code health. Moreover you will make sure we celebrate technical achievements not just as a team, but as a studio. This role is for someone with a technical background and excellent communication and stakeholder skills.

Reporting into the Executive Producer, your focus will be on technical topics and technical teams. Therefore you will be working closely with the CTO, leads and engineers to own technical roadmaps, capture and structure tasks, and build reports that make the teams accomplishments visible. We work on exciting products and games and you will have the opportunity to make a massive impact on product and development quality.

Here's what you will be doing

  • Be heavily involved in roadmap planning, pre-production and production
  • Work with all tech and feature teams to understand their top technical challenges and tooling needs
  • Own technical roadmaps, helping to drive and coordinate the efforts of our core technology teams
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of status reports on technical performance
  • Capture technical needs from the CTO, TD, leads and engineers into a structured form that allows easy discussions, prioritisation and status reporting
  • Schedule and organise various meetings for capturing, prioritisation and breaking topics down into stories
  • Establish and drive processes to improve efficiency and communication within the technical teams, and also to the rest of the studio
  • Review together with the team and the key ‘internal customers’ the usability and efficiency of existing and new tools. Don’t settle for anything that is not best-in-class
  • Synchronise the data across various systems such as JIRA and Excel sheets
  • Maintain project status and progress on a story level as well as on theme and initiative levels
  • Create and maintain reports that show various roadmaps, status & progress of technical initiatives, ETAs, key technical risks organised into topic clusters etc.
  • Integrate bug reports from the QA team into your reports to provide transparency on technical quality for various areas of the code base or the products
  • Work closely with the game producers to assure a constant flow of technical improvements make their way into the sprint schedule of game feature teams
  • Act as scrum master for the Digit Platform teams as well as for the technical art and tools teams

To do this job, you will need

  • 5+ years of production experience
  • 3+ years of technical-related project management experience
  • Solid understanding of Agile and it’s standard practices
  • Experience working with JIRA
  • Naturally be a very structured and well organised person
  • To have excellent discipline
  • Excellent communication and people interaction skills
  • Excellent ability to visualise data and convey information clearly and succinctly
  • Enjoy working with people and teams
  • Willing to spend a lot of time in Excel and JIRA
  • Solid Excel skills incl. conditional highlights and writing formulas
  • To think in a structured and systematic way
  • Have a service attitude
  • To be a gamer and passionate about games

While not mandatory, below are some nice to have’s

  • Programming experience
  • Experience in using Unity for mobile development
  • Worked in large scale agile teams
